Market Update – November 2021

November means it is time for the Holiday season! First Quality Produce is excited to share with our customers all the latest produce updates, a festive recipe, and more.
Transitioning into the month of November, we will move out of Salinas for vegetables and move into sourcing from Yuma. As for citrus, mandarins and navels are beginning.

Top Five Alerts

01. Celery

Demand exceeds supply. Supplies are beginning to tighten up from Salinas. Quality is fair to good, however expect to see high market activity through this month.

02. Mandarins

Due to port delays, Chilean supply is limited. However, California supply begins this month.

03. Broccoli

Demand is much higher than supply across the board making the market extremely active. Mexico’s supply is limited due to the rain.

04. Onions

Another active market. Demand is exceeding supply in value-added. Volumes are increasing for yellow and red.

05. Lettuce

Markets are extremely high due to supply decreasing after the storm. Expect the active market and fair quality to remain through November.
